Time

“What is time?  Time is yesterday, today and tomorrow.  To yesterday add today.  To today add tomorrow.  To tomorrow add yesterday.  So is Time.”

[MOHC (TheWise), attributed]

For the clarification of the doctrine and for the better knowing of all true Saints of SWMNBN.  For the dispensing of knowledge concerning a matter which is of importance for all the true Cleve.  For the resolution of certain disputes concerning the nature of the knowledge that there may not be division among the true Cleve.  For the laying down of firm doctrine that the knowledge and belief of the true Cleve may be built up around it.  Concerning the nature of Time: that Time is yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Thus sayith HCM Zoel and all the true Saints in affirmation, Thus sayith SWMNBN

Consider the saying of MOHC (TheWise), who hath said of time: “To yesterday add today.  To today add tomorrow.  To tomorrow add yesterday.  So is time.”  He speaks of yesterday, that is what has already come to pass.  He speaks of today, that is what is now passing.  He speaks of tomorrow, that is what must yet come to pass.  I too, being in agreement with MOHC (TheWise) as are all the true Cleve, say of time: “To yesterday add today.  To today add tomorrow.  To tomorrow add yesterday.”  That is I say to what has already come to pass add that is passing.  I say to that which is passing add what must yet come to pass.  I say to what must yet come to pass add that which has already come to pass.

To better understand, consider as an allegory the story of a certain man.  On a certain day this man was working out in his fields.  This man thought to himself, what is time?  Being a wise man he immediately arrived at an answer.  Time, the man reasoned, is yesterday today and tomorrow.  It is yesterday, that is what has come to pass.   When morning came I arose from my sleep.  It is today, that is what is now coming to pass.  Now I am out in my field working.  It is tomorrow, that is what must yet come to pass.  When I am done working I will go into my home and rest.  To what has come to pass I add what is now passing.  Before morning came and I arose from my sleep and now I am out in my field working.  To what is now passing I add what must yet come to pass.  Now I am out in my field working and when I am done working I will go into my home and rest.  To what must come to pass I add what has already come to pass.  When I am done working I will go in my house and rest and when morning comes I will arise from my sleep.

“Ah-ha!” you say.  “What must come to pass is that which has already come to pass!”  Now you have learnt what is time.  As is time for the man in the field working, so is Time always.  What must come to pass is that which has already come to pass.  How is this for the true Cleve, the followers of SWMNBN?  It is the same: What must come to pass is that which has already come to pass.  As was SWMNBN so must SWMNBN be.  As were the true Cleve so must the true Cleve be.  In all things Time is the same as in all things SWMNBN is the same.  SWMNBN and Time are alike in this way.  How then is it for each Saint?  It is the same.  As each Saint was so must each Saint be.  Although it is not exactly the same.  For it this age, I HCM Zoel was first among the Cleve to come forth but in a different age different Cleve were the first to come forth.  Nonetheless what has been must be.  Just as yesterday a great age of SWMNBN came to pass so must tomorrow another great age of SWMNBN come to pass.  So is Time: Time is yesterday today and tomorrow.  So are the Cleve: The Cleve are yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Thus sayith HCM Zoel and all the true Saints in affirmation, Thus sayith SWMNBN
